When it comes to building your own home, owning an award-winning building company comes with its own advantages. For Cassy and Jarrod, the proud owners of Edgecliff Homes, building their forever home was a special experience where they leaned into their accumulated knowledge and experience over the last 10 years in the building game.
Straight and true
Design efficiency
Versatility and strength
“We've been a TRUECORE® steel builder from day one. We love working with it. We love that it doesn’t bend or warp. We love that it’s always straight and true...that makes it so much easier when you’re setting plaster, especially in big, large spaces. And we love that it’s Australian owned.”

Introducing the Morley 2.0
Welcome to the Morley 2.0, a modern farmhouse on a grand scale, blending country charm with bold urban style. Designed for living and entertaining, the home is split across two oversized wings, centred around a stunning pool and alfresco area.
One side is all about fun; a fully loaded entertainment zone featuring a home cinema, bar, games area and even a full-size bowling alley. On the other, the family wing brings everyone together, with a spacious open-plan kitchen, living and dining area under soaring cathedral ceilings.
Built with the future in mind, it’s a home designed to grow with the family — a place where friends gather, kids hang out, and everything you need is right at home. “That's the plan,” says Cassy. “It’s about never having to go anywhere. We’ve got our hotel here at home... it's really been designed for all of our friends and family to come over and our kids to grow up in as they change as well. When they are teenagers, we want that they and their friends will love coming to hang out here.”
Working together
With a home of this scale and Cassy and Jarrod’s design choices, strength and precision were critical. The Morley 2.0’s dramatic cathedral ceilings soar to 6.5 metres, requiring a combination of structural steel and frames made from TRUECORE® steel to bring the design to life. Large structural beams provide the primary load-bearing support, while frames made from TRUECORE® steel supports accuracy and consistency for a build of this size. Designed to work seamlessly together, the result was a strong, reliable frame that supported the home’s ambitious architecture.
For homeowners like Cassy, getting it right starts early. “Working with your steel fabricator from the beginning is key. Especially on a job of this size, there's a lot of detailing that goes into getting the frame exactly how it needs to be. It's important to work with your steel fabricator from day dot to make sure everything comes together.”
The best material choices can come with experience. And their framing choice was easy. TRUECORE® steel has been part of every Edgecliff Home build since they were established. “We've been a TRUECORE® steel builder from day one”, says Cassy. “We love working with it. We love that it doesn’t bend or warp. We love that it’s always straight and true...that makes it so much easier when you’re setting plaster, especially in big, large spaces. And we love that it’s Australian owned.”
Popular with trades
Cassy is quick to point out that TRUECORE® steel is also popular with the follow-on trades.
“All the holes are cut out already so you can just slip all the wiring cables and plumbing through the frame. Super easy! And the plasterers don’t have to worry about frames being bowed, so the plaster is a lot easier to install and they're not having to come back and fix things.”
It’s easy to appreciate some of those benefits from a tradie’s perspective when you step inside the awe-inspiring entrance to the house with its dual stairways framing the stunning two-storey atrium. The craftsmanship is obvious. Even at such a large scale, everything is precise, from the smooth, straight walls to the magnificent ceiling overhead.

Support for builders
Building a home always comes with challenges, there’s always a surprise around every corner. Whilst Cassy and Jarrod have the luxury of 10 years of building experience, they know the value of having a strong relationship with your builder. And from a builder’s perspective, working with reputable brands and materials you can trust is crucial. Throughout their journey, Edgecliff Homes has chosen to work with BlueScope. From technical support to marketing guidance, the focus has been on helping them grow alongside TRUECORE® steel and COLORBOND® steel.
As BlueScope Business Development Manager Steve Dallimore explains, “We first met Cassy and Jarrod in 2019 when they were just starting out. Since then, we’ve seen them grow into building large custom homes like this. Our role is to listen, understand their goals and support them, whether that’s through aligning with our brands, technical support or through supporting their marketing efforts”.
That support also extends to design, with Colour & Design Consultant Christine McCoy helping shape their aesthetic direction. For builders, it’s a valuable partnership that brings expert insight into evolving colour and design trends, helping deliver homes that feel current, considered and built for the future.
All the technical advice you need
On the technical side, BlueScope supports builders at every stage, from early product guidance and design support to trade training and warranty advice. As Steve explains, “If a builder is working in areas like coastal or high-exposure environments and isn’t sure which products to choose, we help them with the right warranty information so they can make informed decisions.”
For Cassy, that support has been invaluable.
“Whenever we’ve had technical questions, the BlueScope team have always been there to help. When we first started using frames made from TRUECORE® steel, they walked us through how everything works. They’ve been a great support.”
A dream come true
Cassy is justifiably proud of how their special “Morley 2.0” forever home has turned out. It’s been built on a grand scale, but somehow manages to feel warm and welcoming. “Everyone who comes in says it has such a homely family vibe. With the big scale, a house can easily lose the homely, family feeling. It’s really nice to see our children come home to it and see the design and the modern farmhouse feel really work ... it’s our dream.”
