TRUECORE® steel on The Block 2024
December 03rd, 2024TRUECORE® steel played a major role on The Block in 2024. Celebrating its 20th season, the iconic renovation show captivated millions of viewers across Australia, with TRUECORE® steel once again at the forefront. This year, The Block was set on Phillip Island, where the teams transformed a former holiday park into five stunning holiday homes, all built with the inner strength of TRUECORE® steel.
Throughout the season, TRUECORE® steel helped elevate each home to new heights, helping to transform them into luxurious coastal properties with impressive 6m high walls. The precision-engineered frames made from TRUECORE® steel enabled contestants to fast-track their weekly room reveals without compromising on form or function.
Every minute was crucial when it came to competing on The Block. The show’s tight 10-week construction schedule from design development to completion presented, as always, a significant challenge. Thanks to the expertise of BlueScope’s onsite team, including construction specialist Scott May, and fabricator Peter Blythe from Dynamic Steel Frame, in collaboration with project architect Julian Brenchley, the contestants were able to claw back several precious hours during construction, keeping their builds on track.
In addition to design flexibility and freeing up interior space that would otherwise be required for other structural supports, using prefabricated light gauge steel frames made from TRUECORE® steel saved contestants and their trades valuable time.
