Here we go again! This year for the first time ever, The Block is getting out of town and having a tree-change. We can’t wait to show you the spectacular results, with each palatial home being built on large acreages in the beautiful foothills of the Macedon Ranges.

Set in Melbourne’s affluent beachside suburb Brighton, The Block in 2020 used five period homes to explore styles and eras from the past. Each of these older iconic homes was then complemented with an architecturally designed extension, studio and garage featuring TRUECORE® steel frames. For the first time, we even got to follow Foreman Keith in a visit to Dynamic Steel Frames, where we got a chance to see what happens once the contestants’ plans were approved, CAD drawings were sent to the fabricator, and TRUECORE® steel frames rapidly came to life.

What a year 2019 was! BlueScope Steel was “back on The Block” and we had TRUECORE® steel in all the new extensions of the Gatwick (all 24,308 linear metres of it). It provided the speed, durability and design flexibility to make the impossible, possible over an extraordinary 14 week build.

In 2018, BlueScope introduced TRUECORE® steel to The Block with frames made from TRUECORE® steel being used to construct the top-storey apartment for Carla + Bianca. The roof-top terrace was then clad in Monument® Matt, creating a sleek and modern apartment with stunning views of Melbourne City.

South-east of Melbourne’s CBD, The Block Elsternwick transformed five weatherboard fixer-uppers into stunning modern homes. TRUECORE® steel was featured across the back of the build in the garage and studio.
